-- Larry Wilcox was a contender for the role of James "Sonny" Crockett in Miami Vice, but lost the part to Don Johnson.
-- Erik Estrada Left "CHiPs" in the fall of 1981 over a contract salary dispute with NBC & was briefly replaced by 1976 Olympic Decathalon Gold Medalist Bruce Jenner.
-- Most of the characters on the show were named after real CHP officers.
