Theme music

The theme, The Flight of the Bumblebee, was performed by jazz trumpet great Al Hirt. The song was on a 1966 album, The Horn Meets the Hornet, which featured series star Van Williams on the cover with Hirt.

William Dozier, the creator of the series, provided the opening sequence narration. He also narrated his other creation, Batman.

The Black Beauty

According to an interview with Van Williams, the gadgets and control panel in the Black Beauty were actually in the car and NOT props shot by another camera and then edited into the scene. Williams also stated that every prop on the Black Beauty worked.
