Archie Bunker's Place began as not so much a sequel but a plain continuation of All In The Family The October 1977 eighth-season opening episode of AITF had seen Archie trick his wife Edith into mortgaging their house so that he could buy half-ownership of his favourite watering hole, Kelsey's Bar, renaming it Archie Bunker's Place.

The 28 February 1982 US episode of Archie Bunker's Place, an hour long, served as the pilot for a spin-off, Gloria.
