Western about the exploits of a young correspondence-school law student who rode west in search of adventure. Unfortunately, Tom Brewster was somewhat inept as a cowboy, and he promptly earned the nickname "Sugarfoot" - one grade lower than tenderfoot - in the first episode. Undeterred, and with a redeeming sense of humor, he set out to lasso some outlaws and round up a few pretty girls, if possible.
Although it was a western in the traditional sense, with plenty of action, Sugarfoot always had a light touch which set it apart from most examples of the genre. It ran on an alternate-week basis with Cheyenne from 1957-1959, with Bronco from 1959-1960, and then became one of three rotating elements of the Cheyenne anthology for its final season. |
