> Description
Produced in cooperation with the San Francisco Police Department, The Lineup sought to give realistic semi-documentary portrayals of the work of law officers in the beautiful Bay City. Ben Guthrie and Matt Grebb were the officers who tracked down criminals throughout most of the series' run. The stories were all based on actual cases from the files of the S.F.P.D., and generally included a police lineup where the victims of the crime attempted to pick out the perpetrators.

When the series expanded to an hour in the fall of 1959, there were a number of changes in the cast. Matt Grebb and Fred Asher were gone, replaced by two new inspectors. In addition, Officer Pete Larkin and Policewoman Sandy McAllister became regulars.
