Crossing the success of TLC's Trading Spaces with that of ABC's Extreme Makeover, Extreme Makeover:Home Edition premiered on ABC in Feb. 2004 and providing an alternative to the style of reality television all over tv. Trading Spaces' main man Ty Pennington leads with a team of designers and decorators to make dreams come true. Every week it's a different family, all with their own stories to tell. The show is sappy yet sentimental, yet it has struck a chord with viewers and has far eclipsed the shallow parent show to shame. Thanks to being blessed with the pre-Housewives slot on Sunday nights, Extreme Makeover Home Edition has become a smash hit. |
