This series centered around Karen Angelo, a single, bright, involved young woman who worked for a citizens' action organization called Open America, headquartered in Washington, D.C.
Helping Karen expose crooked politicians and lobby for citizens' legislation were: Dale Busch, founder of the organization; Dena, the group's cynical office manager; Adam, a young student working for the organization and Cissy, Karen's roommate.
