The Pittsburgh Pitts were an all-girl roller derby team, owned and managed by conniving Don Mitchell, who was constantly looking for ways to save the foundering ream - and his investment. The Pitts were a sexy, but sometimes inept crew: towering Mongo, feisty J.B. (the token black), sophistacated "Brooks," dizzy blonde Honey Bee, and innocent "Pipeline," an Eskimo-American. Announcer for the team's raucous games was the snobbish Howie Devine, a down-on-his-luck former opera commentator who would do anything for a buck.
