'Big Brother' Enlists 'Men' for Crossover

(Posted September 7, 2005 by Leah Yoakum)

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) The annual get-out-of-the-house reward is nigh for someone on CBS' "Big Brother," and its winner will get the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to promote the network's fall schedule.

During Thursday's (Sept. 8) episode of "Big Brother 6," host Julie Chen will announce a new "America's Choice" vote, the show's third this summer. Viewers will be asked to choose one of the remaining players -- of which there will be just four by the end of the hour -- to leave the confines of the "BB" house for a day.

That person will then get to take part in "the ultimate fall premiere promotional crossover" -- really, that's what CBS says -- a visit to the set of "Two and a Half Men," which is taking over as CBS' flagship comedy this season now that "Everybody Loves Raymond" has departed. The winner will get to meet Jon Cryer, Charlie Sheen and the cast and watch a taping of the show before returning to the house.

Viewers will see the result of their vote and highlights of the set visit on the Saturday edition of "Big Brother." They'll also -- and here's where that ultimate promo stuff comes in -- get to see a 2 1/2-minute clip of "Men."

"Two and a Half Men," which is nominated for six Emmys this year (including supporting actress nods for Holland Taylor and Conchata Ferrell), opens its third season Monday, Sept. 19. "Big Brother 6" wraps up the following night.
