CBS Gets Tied into 'Knots Landing Reunion'

(Posted November 29, 2005 by Leah Yoakum)

Long before "Desperate Housewives," other television wives often found themselves in desperate situations in "Knots Landing."

Cast member Nicollette Sheridan is a common link between the shows, but CBS has other reasons to revisit the 1979-93 serial in the new special "Knots Landing Reunion: Together Again" Friday, Dec. 2.

The two-hour show gathers Michele Lee, Joan Van Ark, Donna Mills, William Devane, Kevin Dobson, Ted Shackelford and other stars of the drama series to remember the dilemmas of the California cul-de-sac characters they played on the "Dallas" spinoff.

Co-produced by "Happy Days" icon Henry Winkler, the "Knots" reunion recalls the marriages, divorces, affairs, births, deaths, murders, kidnappings and other developments that fans came to know and expect while watching the series in its standard Thursday slot.

Now shown in repeats on SoapNet, "Knots Landing" still had a faithful following when it finished its CBS run. "I think the 'Knots' fans were the most loyal, most dedicated, most loving fans anyone's ever had," Mills says.
