Emmy Show Adds Fox, Barton, Tarantino

(Posted August 23, 2005 by Leah Yoakum)

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) The Emmy Awards have rounded up a second wave of presenters, including "Lost" star Matthew Fox and director Quentin Tarantino, who's up for his first Emmy this year.

Mischa Barton ("The O.C."), Debra Messing ("Will & Grace") and "CSI" star William Petersen will also present awards at the 57th annual Emmys. They join previously announced presenters Kiefer Sutherland ("24"), Halle Berry ("Their Eyes Were Watching God"), Mariska Hargitay ("Law & Order: SVU"), Jon Stewart ("The Daily Show"), Jon Cryer and Charlie Sheen ("Two and a Half Men").

"Lost" is up for a dozen Emmys this year, including outstanding drama series. Fox, however, was not among the nominees for best lead actor, a crowded field that includes Ian McShane of "Deadwood," "House's" Hugh Laurie and last year's winner, James Spader of "Boston Legal."

Tarantino, who won an Oscar in 1995 for co-writing "Pulp Fiction," was nominated for directing the season finale of "CSI," which found Petersen's Gil Grissom and his team racing to find fellow CSI Nick Stokes (George Eads), who had been buried alive.

Messing, an Emmy winner in 2003, wasn't nominated this year. But her show is up for 15 awards, tying "Desperate Housewives" for the most nominations among series (the HBO movies "Warm Springs" and "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers" each have 16 nods). Barton, who begins the third season of "The O.C." next month, will make her first appearance as an Emmy presenter.

The Emmys are scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 18 on CBS.
