Primetime Wednesday Ratings: Fox Dances to Victory |
|
(Posted August 19, 2005 by Leah Yoakum) Following its preemption last week for a two-hour special on Peter Jennings, ABC's Brat Camp lost steam. A repeat of the reality series opened with a 3.9/ 6 in the overnights (#3), 5.66 million viewers (#2), and a 1.7/ 5 among adults 18-49 (#3) at 8 p.m., followed by the original telecast at a second-place 4.8/ 8 in the overnights, 7.14 million viewers, and a 2.4/ 7 among adults 18-49 at 9 p.m. At 10 p.m., a repeat of Lost capped off the evening at a typical 3.0/ 5 in the overnights, 4.44 million viewers and a 1.8/ 5 among adults 18-49. Once Lost returns with original episodes on Sept. 21, move over competition!
While you have to give NBC credit for trying, four repeat episodes of critically acclaimed The Office were barely visible at an average fourth-place 2.8/ 5 in the overnights, 3.29 million viewers and a 1.4/ 5 among adults 18-49 from 8-10 p.m. That led into a repeat of Law & Order, with a second-place 5.7/ 9 in the overnights, 6.83 million viewers, and a 2.2/ 7 among adults 18-49 at 10 p.m. First in the 10 p.m. hour was a repeat of CBS' CSI: NY (Overnights: 5.9/10; Viewers: 7.82 million; A18-49: 2.6/ 8). Earlier in the evening on CBS were repeats of Still Standing (Overnights: #2, 4.1/ 7; Viewers: #3, 5.22 million; A18-49: #2t, 1.6/ 6) and Yes, Dear (Overnights: #2, 4.0/ 7; Viewers: #2, 5.62 million; A18-49: #2, 2.0/ 6), Rock Star: INXS (Overnights: #3, 3.8/ 6; Viewers: #3, 5.59 million; A18-49: #2, 2.3/ 7), and a repeat of King of Queens (Overnights: #3, 3.9/ 6; Viewers: #3, 5.52 million; A18-49: #3, 2.1/ 6) from 8-10 p.m. UPN's combination of R U the Girl With T-Boz & Chilli (Overnights: #5, 2.5/ 4; Viewers: #5, 2.46 million; A18-49: #5, 1.1/ 3) and a repeat of Veronica Mars (Overnights: #6, 1.7/ 3; Viewers: #6, 1.81 million; A18-49: #5t, 0.8/ 2) bested repeats of the WB's One Tree Hill (Overnights: #6, 1.2/ 2; Viewers: #6, 1.45 million; A18-49: #6, 0.7/ 3) and Smallville (Overnights: #5, 1.8/ 3; Viewers: #5, 2.04 million; A18-49: #5t, 0.8/ 2) by an average of 40 percent in the overnights, 390,000 viewers, and 29 percent among adults 18-49.
Good news: there are only 32 days until the start of the new season!
