Cynthia Nixon Will Explore MTC's 'Rabbit Hole'

(Posted July 11, 2005 by Leah Yoakum)

Cynthia Nixon, the respected stage actress who is widely known for playing Miranda on HBO's "Sex and the City," will star in Manhattan Theatre's Club's world premiere Broadway production of David Lindsay-Abaire's Rabbit Hole in 2006.

In the new play by the author of Fuddy Meers, Wonder of the World and Kimberly Akimbo (all produced by MTC), Nixon will play the wife in a couple that faces the loss of a child. Tony Award nominee Nixon (Indiscretions) was once mentioned to star in an MTC staging of Talley's Folly, but that play has since been dropped from the 2005-06 season. Her involvement with Rabbit Hole was officially announced July 5.

Rabbit Hole will open Feb. 2, 2006. Previews begin Jan. 12.
