Original Air Date:
July 6, 2003
Other Information (Trivia, Fun Facts, etc):
This episode marks the premiere of the extended summer second season, nicknamed by fans as Season 2.5. Cast member, John L. Adams (Bruce) wrote in his "behind the scenes" column on the official website that producers referred to these summer episodes as "The Sexy Summer Six." The unaired episode, "The Hunt" was later added into the schedule.
There was much confusion originally arose over whether this episode was the start of a new season - even after USA and various other sources stated the last six episodes would just be a continuation of season 2, on-air commercials continued to refer to an "all-new season of The Dead Zone.”
Frank Whaley is credited on-screen, reflecting the first of several appearance he'll be making up to the season finale where he plays a major role. The USA Network website doesn't credit him, presumably to keep the exact nature of his role a secret.
Michael Piller took the idea of a mysterious tornado from a similar incident that occurred at Lake Cobbosseecontee, Maine in 1998.
