Biography: Golden Brooks (born December 1, 1970 in San Francisco, California) is an American actress.
Brooks has been featured in many films and television shows, and has appeared alongside actors such as Queen Latifah, and Kevin Bacon. Currently, she plays Maya Wilkes (Joan's shap tongued secetary, and now acclaimed author)on the UPN sitcom, Girlfriends.
Before becoming an actress, Golden Brooks studied literature and sociology at UC Berkeley, and earned her Master's degree in at Sara Lawrence College in New York. Brooks was working as a teacher and living with a famous archaeologist when she was cast in a Spike Lee film.
She is an open Bisexual. And according to Persia White,co-star of Girlfriends, the two have messed around sexually.
