But David will always be best known for his portrayal of Det. Sgt. Ken "Hutch" Hutchinson in the 1970's hit tv show Starsky & Hutch. During the run of the show, David enjoyed a successful singing career, including #1 hits such as Don't Give Up On Us.

He performs in West End shows, produces, directs and has toured the U.K., and developed a new multi-media concept for the theatre. David is also the spokesman for the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA). In 2004, he took over the role of Jerry Springer in "Jerry Springer - The Opera" at the Cambridge Theatre in London.
