Biography: One of the most recognizable character actors of the 1950s, Idaho-born Dick Wesson began his career with his brother, Gene Wesson, in a comedy act that made the rounds of the nightclub circuit. He made his film debut in the sci-fi classic Destination Moon (1950), and spent his career specializing in playing the rambunctious, wisecracking smart alec, often in westerns and war films. Easily recognizable by his distinctive speaking voice and crewcut. In addition to his film appearances he did much TV work, and in fact was a producer on the TV series "Petticoat Junction" (1963).
