Biography: Movie, stage and radio actor Ray Collins (December 10, 1889 - July 11, 1965) made his screen debut as Boss Jim Gettys in Citizen Kane and was one of the voices in Orson Welles' infamous War of the Worlds radio broadcast. He appeared in over 90 movies including Leave Her to Heaven (1945), Crack-Up (1946) and A Double Life (1947). He may be best remembered for acting on television playing Lt. Tragg on Perry Mason in the 1950s. Collins started acting on stage at the age of 14. In the mid-1930s, now an established stage and radio actor, Collins began working with Welles' Mercury Theatre leading to some of his most memorable roles. Collins was born in Sacramento, California.
