Biography: Jensen Ross Ackles (born March 1, 1978 in Dallas, Texas, USA) is an American television actor.
Ackles is perhaps best known for his role as Eric Brady on the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives from 1997 to 2000. His portrayal of the young photographer earned him a 1998 Soap Opera Digest Award for Best Male Newcomer.
After leaving Days, Ackles migrated to Vancouver, joining the cast of the series Dark Angel in the character of Alec. He stayed on that program, conceived by James Cameron and starring Jessica Alba, from 2001 to 2002. In 2003, he made several guest appearances as C.J. on the hit WB Network show, Dawson's Creek.
In 2004, Ackles returned to Vancouver and became a regular on another wildly popular WB Network series, Smallville, which revolves around the life of the teenaged Clark Kent (later to be known as Superman). His character, Jason Teague, is the current flame of Clark Kent's ex-girlfriend, Lana Lang, played by Kristin Kreuk.
Ackles will return to television in the new The WB science fiction series Supernatural in the role of Dean Winchester in the fall.
