Biography: Andrea Martin (born January 15, 1947 in Portland, Maine) is an American actress and comedienne of Armenian descent.
Her most famous work was on the sketch comedy television series Second City Television. Her best known recurring role on it was Edith Prickley, a flamboyant television producer at the television station in Melonville. She also played Wanda the Word Fairy in numerous short segments on Sesame Street.
Other famous roles include a supporting role in the popular film, My Big Fat Greek Wedding; Moogie, Quark's iconoclastic mother on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine; and as the current waitress on the Downy Paper Towel TV commercials.
In 2005 she hosted the 25th Annual Genie Awards. Along with the rest of SCTV she received the Earle Grey Award at the Gemini's in 1995.
She has two sons with ex-husband Bob Dolman, Joe and Jack.
