Biography: When she was 17 Heather Paige Kent started appearing
in high school plays and taking acting seriously, charting a course that
would eventually lead to television.
Heather was born in the Bronx, NY. on January 5, 1969,
and grew up in Chappaqua, NY with a family that has been
in New York for five generations. She studied musical
theater at Syracuse University and moved to Southern
California, where she initially worked as a singer.
She began her career appearing in civic light-opera productions
throughout Southern California, after
receiving a bachelor of fine arts degree in musical theater.
With a friend, she then organized a 14-piece band,
opening for such artists as Mel Torme, Dana Carvey, Paula
Poundstone and the Manhattan Transfer. When she was cast as a standup
comedian on stage in the musical "Funny Business,"
she researched her role by performing at clubs such as
Don't Tell Mama in New York and Igby's in Los Angeles.
Her first television role came in 1994, a small part in an episode of ``Married . . .With Children.''
Heather Paige Kent, who lives in Newport Beach with her
plastic surgeon husband, Terry Dubrow, was probably
best known at the time as Jenny McCarthy's best friend,
Maggie, in the series ``Jenny.'' She also played a
waitress in ``Life With Roger'' (1996) and a
bartender on ``Stark Raving Mad'' (1999), along with
appearances on The Norm Show, Early Edition, Men
Behaving Badly, Chicago Sons, as well as portraying
Kim Silva in "Roseanne and Tom: Behind The Scenes" in
1994.
She is best known as Lydia Denise Delucca
in "That's Life," which featured veteran actors Paul
Sorvino and Ellen Burstyn and was co-produced by one of
the original producers of ``The Sopranos,'' Frank
Renzulli. The series premiered Oct. 1, 2000.
Heather has earned praise for her performance on the
show from most reviewers, even ones who didn't care for
the show praised Heather's performance. In the show, Heather,
who is Jewish in real life, plays a 32-year-old
Italian-American woman who decides to go back to college.
