Birth Date: February 21, 1960 / Age: 55
Birth Place: Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA
Biography: After attending Carnegie-Mellon University, I moved to New York and worked as an actor for ten years – all the while studying. I am well versed in the teachings of Stanislavsky, Strasberg, Meisner, Hagen and Adler. My most powerful influence was Mira Rostova – mentor to Montgomery Clift and Geraldine Page.
As an actor, I’ve appeared in feature films, on television (series and MOW’s), on and off-Broadway and in regional theaters. In 1989 I moved to Los Angeles to work on a series. A number of actors that I coached in New York put together a class for me and I’ve been joyfully teaching ever since. E Network profiled my class in 1999 on the segment “Actors Who Teach”, along with Tim Robbins.
In addition to my classes, I teach privately and work with actors on sets.
I have directed a number of award winning plays in Los Angeles. Actors of mine have gone on to win numerous “Ovation” awards.
As actors, we have a responsibility to emotionally heal and point society where it’s going. We have that power. But, only when we know what we’re doing.
Through rigorous training and transcendence of the ego, we can let flow with more power than we ever thought possible.
